Hardcover book about Philip Vickers Fithian, a plantation Tutor of Virginia. This Colonial Williamsburg publication was once initially published in 1943. This reprint from 1957 is a new edition with fresh new illustrations and additional scholarship of the editor. Fithian left his home in New Jersey in 1770 to go into the College of New Jersey at Princeton. Upon graduation, he was once really helpful by the college as a tutor at the plantation of Councilor Carter. After a year with this landed circle of relatives, Fithian developed an affection for this rich circle of relatives and wrote a delightful picture in their on a regular basis life at the plantation.
