Description

From the viewpoint of the young adult he once used to be, Francisco Jimenez describes the challenges he faces when continuing his education. Not only should he leave his circle of relatives when his goes to Santa Clara University, but at the same time as Francisco is there, his father abandons the circle of relatives and returns to Mexico. That is the tale of how Francisco copes with poverty, along with his guilt over leaving his circle of relatives financially strapped, along with his self-doubt about succeeding academically, and with separation. Once again, his telling is honest and true—and inspiring.
